Job Title: Muddy Water Watch (MWW) Assistant Program Coordinator

 Type of Position: Part time (30+ hours per week) (non-exempt); may become fulltime.
 
General Description: Assist Upper Neuse Riverkeeper® with the MWW Project, a statewide initiative to reduce sediment-laden stormwater runoff from construction site activity. Duties include, but are not limited to:
·       
Work statewide with MWW volunteers teaching construction site Best Management Practices (BMPs) to identify BMP maintenance failures and how to properly maintain construction sites.
·       
Organize/attend volunteer training workshops.
·       
Help volunteers upload photos and field reports, accompany them to construction sites, and provide general assistance for MWW volunteers.
·       
Help maintain and update the MWW website and list serve.
·       
Print and assemble MWW Workbooks and Field Guide Manuals.
·       
Work with Enforcement Coordinator to evaluate/maintain data from data storage websites.
·       
Assist North Carolina Riverkeepers® and their volunteers in the implementation of MWW program in their watersheds across the state.
·       
Position requires overnight travel.  Travel schedule will vary from month to month based on the needs of the program.
 
Skills/Requirements:
·       
A basic understanding of erosion and sediment, construction site Best Management Practices (BMP’s), and laws pertaining to these.  (This is not a requirement but is preferred.  A willingness to learn these subjects is essential.) 
·       
Good communication skills and the ability to work with volunteers.
·       
Ability to work independently on a daily basis, understanding that you are part of a collaborative team.
·       
Enjoy working with people who are passionate about protecting water quality.
·       
Good understanding of computers (Microsoft, Excel, template-based website maintenance, etc.)
